How to Start a Gentle Relationship Check-In

A relationship check-in can be a small recurring conversation, not a serious summit. The aim is to share what is working, name one need, and leave with a little more context for each other.

How to use these questions

  1. Set a short time limit—twenty minutes is enough for a first try.
  2. Start with one appreciation each before bringing up a request.
  3. Speak from your own experience: ‘I have been missing…’ works better than a verdict about your partner.
  4. Close with one small experiment for the coming week, not a promise to fix everything.

Questions to try

  1. What has felt good between us lately?
  2. What has taken more energy than usual?
  3. Where could we make one ordinary part of the week easier?
  4. What kind of support would feel most useful from me right now?
  5. What should we protect time for this week?

Try it together

Make twelve private guesses, then reveal them together.

Twelve Between Us is a private couples challenge—not a diagnosis, ranking, or public score.
